Senior Director of Gift Planning

Elizabeth C. Fontes is the senior director of planned giving at Rollins College. Ms. Fontes has twenty years of experience in development at higher education and health care institutions in the state of Florida.

Ms. Fontes is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She relocated with her family to Tampa, Florida, in the 1970s. She is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin where she received a B.S. in communications. She began her fundraising career at the American Cancer Society in Tampa where she worked for more than ten years. She went on to the University of South Florida where she served as director of development for the College of Engineering during the $600 million comprehensive Unstoppable Campaign. In her current role, Ms. Fontes is responsible for leading the planned giving department for Rollins College. Rollins College has been ranked 24 consecutive years in a row by U.S. News & World Report among the top two regional universities in the South.

Ms. Fontes has served as a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Suncoast Chapter, and as the vice president for the Partnership of Philanthropic Planning of Tampa Bay. She has been a member of the Pinellas County Estate Planning Council and the Central Florida Estate Planning Council. Ms. Fontes is also a member of the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Club of Central Florida.

Ms. Fontes is committed to professional growth and is a chartered advisor in philanthropy and a certified fundraising executive as well as a competent leader and competent communicator through Toastmasters International.

Assistant Director of Gift Planning

Kimberly W. Kiss is the assistant director of gift planning at Rollins College. Kimberly has a combined ten years of experience in nonprofit management and legal practice.

Kimberly grew up in the Orlando area, attending Boone High School and then Rollins College where she received her B.A. in English. She began her fundraising career at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society where she worked with the Team In Training marathon training program prior to attending law school. Kimberly graduated from the State University of New York law school, earning a J.D. with a focus on finance transactions. During her time in New York, Kimberly worked for a private practice and at the IRS. Since returning to Florida, Kimberly has worked on mergers and acquisitions for private firms and managed her own law firm focusing on estate planning, probate, and tax law.

Kimberly is a licensed attorney, and she is a member of the Florida Bar Tax Section, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers. Kimberly has given presentations titled “Homestead and Estate Planning,” “Estate Planning in Florida: 101,” and “Road Map in the Land of QOZ (Qualified Opportunity Zones).”

Kimberly felt that her time at Rollins helped shape her values and world view, and she strongly values the liberal arts education. She is excited to return to Rollins to be a part of the developments on campus.
